What You’ll Do

Employee Relations – 25%

  • Responsible for motivating and supporting current staff, listening to concerns, and working with upper management to resolve organizational-level issues.

  • Identifies, evaluates, and resolves issues with employee relations, employee morale, work performance, and organizational productivity concerns. Coaches management in appropriate resolution of employee relations and productivity issues.

  • Administers performance review programs to meet organizational goals while ensuring effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.

  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
     

Recruiting & Hiring – 20%

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute a lifecycle approach to talent management focused on current and future talent needs, recruiting, development, performance management, succession planning, and retention.

  • Works with stakeholders to identify business needs and recruits and retains top-quality talent by screening candidates and conducting interviews before presenting the best candidates to the appropriate hiring team.

  • Develops thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development, and retention.

  • Hires new team members, negotiates employment agreements, and prepares offers and new hire documents.

  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to provide information and training regarding Company policies, procedures, and benefits, and to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
     

Training - 20%

  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

  • Conducts management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, conflict resolution, safety, sexual harassment, etc...

  • Coaches business leaders on key organizational and management issues, including talent planning, learning and development, and performance management to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development.

Policy and Process - 20%

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Documents and updates Standard Operating Procedures, the Company Manual, and all other necessary policies and procedures.

  • Obtains proper documentation and maintains all staff records, including obtaining and maintaining current status of visas and other necessary documentation for foreign employees.

  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for PEO, insurance carrier, or other reporting agencies as applicable. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Ensures that our human resource programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to overall business objectives and develops and implements new HR programs and policies as needed by the organization.
     

Compensation & Other – 15%

  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

  • Conducts yearly compensation reviews.

  • Coordinates with PEO and assists in benefits administration, including processing new hires, terminations, and employee changes.

  • Creates job descriptions/duties/titles and communicates clear career progression opportunities to team members.

  • Performs administrative tasks associated with the business as well as some executive assistance to the CEO.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong computer experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

  • Ability to implement and utilize HR software systems to streamline HR processes.

  • Experience with ATS software is a bonus.

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
     

Additional Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires extended periods of sitting, with much of the work done at a computer workstation. Must be able to work at computer up to 80% of time.

  • Manual dexterity, allowing for the use of a keyboard and mouse for data entry and the ability to utilize general office equipment.

  • Capable of seeing details within close range (e.g., on a computer monitor).

  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

  • Stooping and/or bending may be required to perform routine clerical tasks, such as filing or stocking office supplies. Position duties may require incumbents to lift, carry heavy objects (up to 25 lbs) at times.

  • Should Viable become subject to a government mandate, client requirement, or federal contract requirement in the future, vaccination may be a condition of employment, unless a religious, or medical accommodation is requested and approved, absent undue hardship to the company.
