SENIOR CNC MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

We are looking for an experienced CNC Manufacturing Engineer to assist our R&D engineers by programming machinery including mills, lathes, and wire EDMs to produce components to specifications. The successful candidate will be accountable for in-process production quality assurance and leading troubleshooting efforts. What You’ll Do

  • Programming, and setting up 5-axis simultaneous CNC milling machines, 3-axis CNC milling machines, EDM, Water Jet, lathes, and other machining equipment involving precision tolerances(tenths).
     

  • Program Mazak Integrex using Esprit CAM.

  • Ability to generate CAM for machining parts. Expectation is to go from part file (3D Model) to finished part (CAM/Conversational).
     

  • Design electrodes, soft jaws, and fixtures using 3D CAD software.
     

  • Experience working in a R&D/Job Shop. Able to see the big picture and balance labor time vs. machine time.
     

  • Generate setup sheets for operators.
     

  • Generate work instructions for production processes.
     

  • Reading blueprints and understanding GD&T to ensure parts are produced according to required tolerances and specifications.
     

  • Selecting and applying proper tooling.
     

  • Create, recommend, and execute effective and efficient manufacturing strategies.

  • Responsible for verification and documentation of part dimensions and tolerances as required for quality.
     

  • Prototyping and creating models and early samples of products built to test concepts and processes.

  • Required to visually inspect parts for surface details and machining finishes with close attention to detail.
     

  • Knowledge of general shop math.
     

  • Providing consultation and training on CNC machine abilities and techniques.
     

  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
     

  • Provide general upkeep and preventative maintenance on machines and other tools.
     

  • Ability to work safely and adhere to company policies and procedures.
     

  • Perform other duties assigned by the Engineering teams.

Who You are

  • US Citizen or Approved to work in the U.S.
     

  • Strong 5-axis simultaneous milling programming skills required. Minimum 8 years’ of experience working with CNC Mills (Okuma MU5000V is a plus).
     

  • Experience with exotic materials; Nickel based alloys.
     

  • Intermediate understanding of part modeling and strong knowledge of fixture design.
     

  • Experience working with Siemens NX CAD/CAM software is a plus.
     

  • Prototyping experience is a plus.
     

  • MUST HAVE knowledge of programming and use of G&M codes.
     

  • MUST HAVE the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
     

  • Ability to use applicable inspection/measurement equipment: micrometers, calipers etc. as required.
     

  • Good communication skills and the desire to work in a team environment is a must.
     

  • Exhibit close attention to detail.
     

  • Show a strong initiative to succeed.
     

  • Qualify for fitness of duty on all work sites including, but not necessarily limited to, passing both drug tests and background checks.

  • Able to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
     

  • The vision requirements include; close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
